Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an integral element of Gatehouse’s corporate framework. We fulfil our CSR responsibilities through an ethical approach to our activities and supporting a range of not-for-profit organisations.

The Bank’s business objectives and operations are conducted in a manner that calls for fair dealing with business partners, customers and employees and a sense of corporate responsibility in all business dealings. This approach dovetails with the requirements of Shariah principles, which underpin the Bank’s operations and form the basis of its product offering.

The Bank also believes in the importance of supporting a range of not-for-profit endeavours. It aims to work with organisations in the local community with a focus on education and social welfare in order to create sustainable and long-term social enhancements. In this regard and given our Shariah construct, the Bank has opportunity to provide training and guidance on Shariah principles and Islamic finance.

The Bank’s employees are encouraged to invest time to support children from local communities. Gatehouse has been supporting Mosaic, a charity founded by HRH The Prince of Wales, since 2008 and provides a platform for employees who wish to volunteer their time, to make a difference to society and help make the mentoring programmes a success. We are proud to have become a Silver Parton of Mosaic in 2016.

Mosaic delivers mentoring programmes in primary and secondary schools and in prisons. The mentoring programmes are designed to help those from disadvantaged communities to realise their potential with the support of volunteer mentors.
